Spanish Midterm
In this assignment, I am most proud of the fact that I retained so many words from my script. My partner and I based our conversation on cowboys and topics surrounding the old west. I figured most of the words wouldn't be valuable for a regular conversation, but to my surprise, it was a very great guide for a common conversation. I am able to find ways to intertwine the words I learned into practice speaking with my peers. My partner, Andrew, has been constantly encouraging me all week to study for this video. He did this by randomly speaking to me in Spanish and from our script. This helped me so much in terms of memorization and comfortability. By catching me off guard, he made sure I was always prepared for the video. As I said before, there are many parts of this conversation that I can incorporate into my community. Things like;
"Pero la mayoría de mis amigos me llaman", I can use this in many different types of situations. If I meet a new person I may inform them of a nickname I prefer that my friends call me.
"lavarte las manos", This is important as a conversation about routines or daily life.
"¿Quieres que te lleve?", I may use this when speaking to a friend or person I would be comfortable giving a ride. It can be important in a situation with a Spanish speaker that is in need of a ride somewhere.
"eso sería genial", I could use this in almost any situation. It is a very common response to different conversations. It can be said after a compliment, favor, etc.
"Eso es una mala idea", This can be used if you feel uncomfortable with doing something when with a Spanish idea. You can use this if you do not want to do something or feel that it doesn't meet a certain standard.
If I were to give myself a letter grade, I would give myself an A. I worked very hard to memorize and write this script. I was very excited to do this video and studied a lot. I had one point where I messed up in my video, but that was due to nerves from being filmed. Other than that I think I did very well. I knew everything that my partner and I were saying and reacted similarly to the Spanish as I would to English.
