Essential Question:
What choices are out there for colleges and universities and what do they have to offer that can address how you learn and the skills you need to acquire to be successful?
Colleges pride themselves on being the best for particular professions. The ones that are prominent for being the best in a certain profession will offer the best curriculum for that specific topic. Colleges will tell you exactly what you need to be successful and the ones that will prepare you the best will teach you everything and be by you every step of the way. There are many colleges that say they are best fit for my desired profession, but the ones that will actually prepare me for the future are the ones that offer hands on learning. The colleges that put you into the field and allow you to see for yourself what real life is like. Many schools can teach you, but when it comes to actual preparation, you have hands on experience.
I am looking for a college that matches my specific major, which is film. I want to attend a college that gives me hands on experience and connections to the world of film. The skills I need for university level curriculum is improving test taking abilities and study habits. Test taking is linked to the hippocampus, which is responsible for memory. It essentially gives you short term memory loss, which effects your memory of the subject. The skills needed for my profession are communication and confidence.
My goal is to go to college and study film and writing. I hope to graduate with a degree in film and an undergrad in creative writing. I hope to get a job in the film world. Beginning as an intern or assistant. I plan on attending graduate school and majoring in business. After graduating, I plan to become a director/screenwriter for my own movies. After doing this for most of my life, I plan to open my own production company.

Interview for Chapman University
My school was given the opportunity to visit a college fair to better connect and inform students to the colleges they wish to get accepted into. I chose to interview the representative for Chapman University to learn what it takes to be apart of their school— more specifically, their film department. He told me that there are 3 departments within the school and dependent on what you wish to go into in the future, there is a program for you. I asked him if careers are better obtained depending on the college you graduate from and he responded with a sometimes. When it comes to film, it is extremely competitive profession. You need to be very experienced and have great connections. Chapman teaches you all of these skills and connects you to real professionals in the adult world.
